Rock Resurrection in Grand Rapids, MI
at the Van Andel Arena

Saint Asonia

The first band starting out The Rock Resurrection Tour is guest Saint Asonia. This band is a Canadian-American rockband consists band members of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Adam Gontier, lead guitarist Mike Mushok, bassist and backing vocalist Cale Gontier, and drummer Cody Watkins. Saint Asonia started off the setlist with their song called Better Place that was a released single back in 2015. Since Adam Gontier was the lead singer for Three Days Grace Adam thought it would be a good idea to add songs Never Too Late and  I Hate Everything About You in the setlist and fans went wild. Saint Asonia recently paired up with John Cooper from Skillet and collabed their song Wolf. As the set ended they played their last song called Let Me Live My Life.

Theory Of A Deadman

Theory Of a Deadman is a Canadian rock band from North Delta, British Columbia formed in 1999 with lead singer Tyler Connolly, lead guitar Dave Brenner, bassist Dean Back, and drummer Joey Andeneau. Theory of a Deadman was a co-headliner for The Rock Resurrection Tour. Before Theory of a Deadman hit the stage fans were singing jumping enjoying the song Sweet Caroline. Kicking off the show with their song was the title of their latest album Dinosaur and wasted no time diving into Bitch Came Back and Two of Us. Sixteen songs of enjoyment smiles and memories. Theory of a Deadman sounds like a mix of grunge, hard rock, and a bit of country twang that Theory fans have grown to love. As we end with the night Theory played their second single from their third studio album Scars & Souvenirs called Bad Girlfriend. Fans all around were singing out loud and you could hear it all around the arena.

SKILLET

Ending the night is an AMAZING Christian Rock Band named Skillet. Skillet consists of Lead singer and bassist also husband John Cooper, Rhythm guitarist, vocalist, and keys wife Korey Cooper, lead guitarist Seth Morrison, and drums and vocalist Jen Ledger. Skillet was first formed in Memphis, Tennessee in 1996. The band released eleven studio albums two of them including Collide and Comatose receiving Grammy nominations. When you hear Dogman by King's X you know Skillet is about to hit the stage. As Skillet walked on stage to an intro to Feel Invincible the crowd was yelling and dancing wild. Skillet is one of the most active bands I have ever seen where all the band members move with high energy. Continuing the setlist is the album title that was released back in 2015 Rise and coming off their recent album that came out last year called Dominion playing Surviving The Game. During Surviving The Game John pulled out two handheld smoke machines and fans were jumping and singing along."I can be unstoppable...Gonna be Indestructible..." This band for sure does know how to make a crowd move no matter what. Jen came out from the drums to sing during the intro to Awake and Alive and singing Hero. While they were starting to perform Finish Line, Adam Grontier from Saint Asonia came out to sing with the band. Before Comatose John had an idea to put a hymn called Be Thou My Vision and Korey wrote the music. I love how John thought of that because we all need Jesus in our lives. Another surprise since 2012 they finally brought the gigantic red monster head that blows out smoke on the sides and it was so creative to see in person. After a full set, they left the stage and the audience had a moment to catch their breath and encoring to the last song The Resistance. Thank you Skillet for always putting on an extravagant performance.
