KENOTIC METANOIA TOUR

AMETHYST MICHELLE

Friday night in Akron, OH at a music venue called MUSICA starting off the Kenotic Metanoia tour is a band called AMETHYST MICHELLE. They are a band that has a mix of sounds of country, pop, and indie formed in Nashville, Tennessee. Throughout the performance, Amethyt's voice immediately caught my attention and carried through the small venue with powerfulness and emotion. The setlist blended with their upbeat hit songs and new tracks from her album recently released on June 20, 2024 "Through the Tears". My favorite song off the track was "Black Sheep", it has those nice guitar riffs. In the middle of the set Amethyst was talking about how much she was having fun and being thankful for being part of this lineup. If you have a chance to see her live, I highly suggest you don't miss it.

ISLANDER

Before Islander could even play they were having technical issues. At the same time, the bass was getting fixed lead singer Mikey Carvajal was entertaining the audience by asking questions which eventually turned into a Q&A for a hot minute. Someone asked, "Why do you wear face paint during the show." He replied that he really likes WWE and wants to be like one of them.

When the issue got fixed not even a moment was wasted the venue bursted with energetic blasts of alternative rock and metal. Mikey is really good at interacting with his audience. 3rd from the last song they played "It's Not Easy Being Human" (Feat. Lacey Sturm).

In summary, Islander's live performance was for sure brought to life how much they loved doing what they do on stage and having that high energy and connection.

LACEY STURM

To start Lacey's review if you haven't listened to her "Kenotic Metanoia" album here is the link.

This is my first time seeing Lacey Sturm and I just love how much she shares Jesus. She was telling stories, her testimonies, preaching. It was very well said indeed.

Anyway, to start of the setlist track 'Intro (My Heartbeat)' started. Guitarist (Evan Cage) and bassist (Husband Josh Sturm) entered the stage along with Drumer (Tyler Armenia) following aside Lead Singer Lacey Sturm. Fans from all around the stage yelled and just bursted out singing the first lyric and continuing with enthusiasm. The next song blended right to Flyleaf's famous song "I'm So Sick". Sturm with the rest of the band members headbanged and jumped with a high-octane performance. Jumped right to State of Me, Rot, Are You Listening. Sturm paused and talked to the audience about how she felt bad for saying no to projects and there was one project where she collaborated with the band Breaking Benjamin singing their cover of "Dear Agony".

Throughout the set, Sturm's connection with the audience was very heartfelt and deeply personal. Between the songs like I said she shared her journeys and inspiration behind her lyrics. She sang each song with her unique power and emotion. The audience was quite in awe.

After she sang (I Died) she asked the audience what Flyleaf songs they wanted to hear and they shouted almost all the Flyleaf songs they could think of. Sturm said "You guys are really true fans" Fully Alive and All Around Me got chosen. Before All Around Me, Sturm shared her testimony about how she didn't want to live anymore and how she had an encounter with Jesus, also saying how you matter. During the song was played Sturm worshipped the Lord and just raising her hand and spinning where she felt the prescence of God with her.

Closing the night she ended with End The Wars (Acoustic) with no encore because she thought they were very cheesy.

Personally, I would travel again to Lacey Sturm because her performance was really well organized and felt like family in the audience.
