THE EMERGENCY TOUR

Kicking off the first night of The Emergency Tour was in Flint, MI at The Machine Shop. Doors were @6PM - Fans before the show were motivated waiting outside an hour before to secure a spot close to the stage.

Kingdom Collapse

To start the night the clock strikes 7 PM, heading to the stage Kingdom Collapse. This band was formed in San Antonio, Texas in 2013. The band consists of lead singer Jonathon Norris, guitarist David Work, bassist Aaron Smith, and drums Gaston Flores. Kingdom Collapse’s music sounds are aggressive with compressed riffs and emotion-changed choruses. As the setlist went on the room was slowly rising with energy as fans filled the room while they were still walking in. One of the highlights from this band was their top song “Unbreakable” a song all the fans knew that you could just hear shouting across the room.

ADELITAS WAY

Immediately when the lights dimmed there was so much raw energy and emotion. This next band is Adelita’s Way a band that cemented themselves in hard rock genre. The band opened up with What it Takes setting the tone for a high octane performance. Once the lead singer Rick DeJesus sang the first chord and how powerful it was, Rick and the band had the crowd in their hands. Rick’s voice is very powerful, commanding, with a blend of grit with an edge that makes the rock sound for Adelita’s Way! During the show you could tell how close their chemistry was with each other throughout their set.

One of the highlights were bassist Andrew Cushing and Grayson Erhard were going off with their riff solos! These guys know how to put on a show. Now let me tell you I was attached to their drummer Trevor Stafford… y’all his tricks spinning the drumsticks multiple times and throwing them up in the air again.. MULTIPLE TIMES! I love movement through bands it makes the show more alive and how much fun they have on stage and  shows how much they love what they do as well as talent. Now let’s not forget about Rick DeJesus moves wrapping the microphone around his arms/wrists and doing tricks swinging the microphone like most lead singers don’t do that with the microphone bc most vocal artists have wireless microphones.

As the set went on another fan favorite playing Notorious. Fans singing and dancing throughout the venue. The second highlight of the night is where Rick was explaining how he hated TikTok but of course the ONE post he posted went viral and singing one of their newest songs called What it Takes! I saw these guys back in Toronto, Ontario on Skillet’s Day Of Destiny Tour and I’m very glad they actually came to my home state! Definitely interested in seeing them again!

RED

As lights dimmed again at 9 PM there was nothing but an adrenaline rush from the moment Red came on start to finish. Red revealed their album Rated R on January 24, 2024 on their Facebook page. This album marks a very bold turn into Reds musical journey. The band is well known for their deeply spiritual lyrics. We are very blessed to have a tour that was announced in June 2024 the Emergency Tour. I was very excited that the tour kicked off in Flint, MI first!

The first song Surrogates blasted through the venues speakers, the crowd was already jumping with chaotic energy. Lead singer Michael Barnes had an aggressive, smooth, and melodic voice that stands out evenly in rock. They continued the setlist with Infidel, Lie to Me, and Lost. Red delivered a setlist of high-energy rock with powerful guitar riffs, energetic drumming, and a lot of electronic elements. Anthony Armstrong and Randy Armstrong rhythms anchored by Brian Medeiros provided an encouraging foundation. Red’s engagement with the audience was a highlight of the evening one of them was at the Machine Shop there was a swing near the entrance that hung from the poles near the ceiling and Anthony was concerned about people's safety and making sure she doesn’t fall off! As the set went on they ended off with an encore ending with not just one song but two Minus it All and a fan favorite to top it all of Breathe Into Me. If Red ever makes their rounds back to Michigan I would for sure consider coming back!
